Red Cross Accepting Donations

Wednesday, August 1, 2007 – updated: 11:20 pm EDT August 1, 2007

The National Red Cross has responded to the Interstate 35W bridge collapse in Minneapolis by setting up stations to care for the injured near the site and feeding areas to provide food for everyone involved.

Red Cross spokewoman Courtney Johnson said the primary task on which Red Cross workers are concentrating is caring for young children who were on a school bus that was on the bridge at the time of the collapse.

Johnson also said the Red Cross has provided mental health professionals to those involved in the collapse to help them handle what they went through.

The Red Cross is taking donations to assist people. Anyone who would like donate should click here.
