Indianapolis, IN -- (Sports Network) - Pete Campbell poured in 24 points, burying 8-of-12 from beyond the arc, as the 14th-ranked Butler Bulldogs celebrated their Horizon League regular season championship with a 65-31 trouncing of the Detroit Titans at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

Mike Green did a little bit of everything, tallying 11 points, reeling in 12 rebounds and dishing out nine assists for the Bulldogs (27-3, 16-2 Horizon), who clinched the regular season crown with a 66-61 victory over Wright State on Thursday and, as the top seed, will host the Horizon League Tournament next week. It marks the Bulldogs' first outright league title since 2003, and second consecutive regular season championship after sharing the crown with Wright State last season.

The Bulldogs will begin Horizon League Tournament play in the semifinals next Saturday.

Butler has triumphed in 11 of its last 12 affairs, improving to 12-1 as the host. The Bulldogs completed a season sweep of the Titans, after holding them off, 53-46, on December 6 at Calihan Hall.

No Detroit scorer reached double-figures, though Chris Hayes contributed nine points and grabbed six boards for the Titans (7-22, 3-15), who closed out their season mired in a four-game losing skid. The loss dropped Detroit to 3-15 on the road.

Despite the affair having no possible impact on Butler's postseason, the Bulldogs came out ready to battle and led wire-to-wire. Though the halftime score indicated otherwise, the contest was out of reach from the very beginning.

After a 5-0 Butler spurt started the tilt, Detroit's Josh Samarco drained a three-pointer before the Bulldogs broke open an 11-0 burst. Campbell buried three buckets from beyond the arc during the barrage, the last of which gave Butler a comfortable 16-3 cushion with just under 13 minutes to play.

Detroit closed the first frame when Hayes hit a jumper to cut the deficit to 25-18 with 2:04 remaining. The score stood up as the squads headed to the locker rooms.

Butler bolted out of the break by ripping off a 9-0 run. Three baskets from three-point range comprised the streak, with Campbell's at the 17:10 mark making it 34-18.

The Bulldogs continued their assault on the Titans with a 15-2 flurry. Matt Howard's slam sparked the surge, and by the time Avery Jukes finished it with a layup with 5:56 to go, Butler had built an insurmountable 58-29 advantage.
