NCAA Game Summary - James Madison At Drexel

(Sports Network) - Tramayne Hawthorne led five Drexel players in double figures with 15 points, as the Dragons notched a 70-67 win over the James Madison Dukes in Colonial Athletic Association action at the Daskalakis Center.

Rob Hampton scored 14 points for Drexel (12-18, 5-12 CAA), and Randy Oveneke added 11. Scott Rodgers and Jamie Harris tallied 10 points apiece, while Frank Elegar grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds.

Juwann James paced JMU (12-16, 4-13) with 22 points and nine boards, but the Dukes remain winless against the Dragons in 12 all-time meetings. Kyle Swanston (nine rebounds) and Abdulai Jalloh each scored 12 in the loss, and Terrance Carter finished with 10 points.

JMU shot just 9-of-26 from the floor in the first half, yet the Dukes trailed by only a 32-30 margin at the break.

Hawthorne scored all 15 of his points in the second half to give his teammates a boost, however the Dragons nearly coughed up a 67-60 lead with 1:29 to play. Hampton's layup with 14 seconds to play sealed the win.

JMU struggled from the floor, shooting just 37.3 percent in the loss. The Dukes also connected on just 65 percent of their free throws.
