NCAA Game Summary - Idaho State Vs. Portland State

Wednesday, March 12, 2008

(Sports Network) - Deonte Huff scored a team-best 20 points as the Portland State Vikings defeated the Idaho State Bengals, 72-61, in the semifinals of the Big Sky Conference Tournament at the Rose Garden.

Also scoring in double figures for the top-seeded Vikings (22-9) were Jeremiah Dominguez and Andre Murray with 16 and 11 points, respectively. With the victory PSU will now appear in their first-ever Big Sky Conference title game against Northern Arizona on Wednesday night.

The Bengals (12-19) were paced by Matt Stucki and his game-high 22 points, followed by Lucas Steijn and Amorrow Morgan with 10 points apiece.

Portland State shot just 37 percent from the field in the first half, yet still played well enough to take a 33-28 advantage at the break.

In the second half the Vikings boosted their field goal accuracy to 58.3 percent, making it a little easier for the squad to cruise to the 11-point victory.

ISU ended up turning the ball over 15 times on the night and shot a mere 3- of-11 behind the three-point line in the setback.
