NCAA Game Summary - Pacific At Cal Poly

Sunday, March 2, 2008

(Sports Network) - Steffan Johnson scored a game-high 22 points to lead the Pacific Tigers to a 68-47 win over the Cal Poly Mustangs in Big West Conference action in Mott Gymnasium.

Casey Neimeyer added 13 points off the bench for the Tigers (19-9, 9-5 Big West) and Anthony Brown contributed 10 points and pulled down six rebounds in the team's third straight victory.

The Mustangs (11-15, 6-7), losers of two of the last three, were led by Trae Clark with 17 points, six rebounds and six assists, followed by Dreshawn Vance and Titus Shelton with 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Pacific made just 3-of-11 shots from three-point range in the first half and failed to make a single trip to the free-throw line, yet still maintained a slim 31-29 advantage at the break.

In the second half Cal Poly was limited to just seven total field goals as the Tigers ran away with the 21-point triumph.

Both teams made just four free throws on the night, the difference being that that is all the chances Pacific was afforded, compared to 13 attempts by the home team.
