Portland, OR -- (Sports Network) - Diamon Simpson racked up 23 points and nine rebounds to lead the Saint Mary's Gaels to a 64-50 victory over the University of Portland Pilots in a West Coast Conference tilt. Todd Golden scored 12 points for Saint Mary's (25-5, 12-2 WCC), which got 11 points from Patrick Mills and 10 points from Omar Samhan. Sherrard Watson posted 12 points in the loss for University of Portland (9-21, 3-11), and teammate Nik Raivio added 10 points. Both teams shot below 40 percent from the floor in the first half, and Saint Mary's owned a 26-22 lead at intermission. Over the final 20 minutes, the Gaels earned a 16-6 edge in points from the foul line, and the Pilots missed all six of their three-pointers in that second half. Saint Mary's forced 19 turnovers in the clash and committed only 11 of its own giveaways.
