Sunday, February 18, 2007
Fresno, CA -- (Sports Network) - Eddie Miller made good on 7-of-10 shots from three-point range to finish with a game-high 27 points and lead the Fresno State Bulldogs to a 78-60 win over the Sam Houston State Bearkats as part of BracketBuster Saturday from the Save Mart Center. Quinton Hosley recorded a double-double for the Bulldogs (18-8) with 14 points and 10 boards, followed by Tyson Parker with 12 points and Dominic McGuire a game-high 11 rebounds in the team's second straight victory and the third in the last four outings. The Bearkats (18-8), who had their six-game win streak snapped, were paced by Jeremy Thomas and JeJuan Plair with 13 and 12 points, respectively, as they combined to shoot 6-of-14 from three-point range. While SHSU was shooting just 26.8 percent from the field in the first half, the Bulldogs were making good on an even 50 percent to take a 39-30 lead at the break. In the second half it was more of the same as FSU connected on 7-of-13 beyond the arc in taking the 18-point win. The Bulldogs defense came to play as they held the Bearkats to a mere 25.3 percent shooting from the field and 9-of-33 behind the three-point line.
