GAME NOTES: The Illinois-Chicago Flames continue their three-game road trip tonight, as they invade the Resch Center to take on the Wisconsin-Green Bay Phoenix in Horizon League action. The Flames stepped out of league play on Saturday and got their road swing underway with a solid 70-58 triumph at Northern Iowa. The win snapped a three-game slide and improved the team to 15-13 overall. UIC now returns back to conference action, where it has gone an even 8-8 thus far. As for UWGB, it opened a three-game homestand on Saturday with a 74-67 setback against non-conference foe Western Michigan. It was the fifth straight loss for the Phoenix, who dipped to 13-14 overall and 9-3 at home. The squad now turns its focus back to HL play, where it has logged just a 7-9 mark this season. UWGB leads the all-time series with UIC, 42-33, but the Flames notched a 76-67 triumph in the first meeting of the season.

The Flames knocked down 52.3 percent of their shots from the field and 8-of-16 from three-point land, as they eased by Northern Iowa this past weekend. The team also did a solid job at the foul line, converting on 16-of-21 opportunities. Robert Bush led the charge with 16 points and five boards, while Josh Mayo, Robert Kreps and Jeremy Buttell each tallied 13 points. For the season, Mayo is the only player on the roster averaging in double figures with 17.8 ppg and he is dishing out 3.5 apg. He is also one of the premier three- point shooters in the nation, making good on 50.6 percent of his chances. As a team, UIC is shooting an efficient 40.9 percent from three-point range and that has helped it to score 68.9 ppg.

UWGB lost the battle on the boards, 33-23, and was outscored at the foul line, 26-16, in a loss to Western Michigan over the weekend. The team shot a solid 49.0 percent from the floor, but it hit just three three-point field goals compared to eight by Western Michigan. Terry Evans paced the Phoenix with 16 points and five steals, while Ryan Tillema had 13 points and three assists. Mike Schachtner though, was held to just six points and that was a bit surprising considering he leads the squad in scoring for the season at 15.7 ppg. Tillema is next in order at 11.7 ppg, and Rahmon Fletcher checks in with 10.2 ppg and 3.0 apg. Evans contributes 10.0 ppg and a team-high 6.8 rpg for the Phoenix, who are netting 68.8 ppg on 46.2 percent shooting from the field this season.

The Phoenix have struggled down the stretch, but they have enough balance to turn things around and tonight is as good of a time as any. Go with UWGB behind an all-around team effort.

Predicted Outcome

Wisconsin-Green Bay 68, Illinois-Chicago 64
