NCAA Game Summary - Washington At Arizona

(Sports Network) - Willie Tuitama threw for 193 yards and three touchdowns, as the Arizona Wildcats cruised past the Washington Huskies, 48-14, in a Pac-10 tussle at Arizona Stadium.

Tuitama made good on 17-of-21 tosses for Arizona (4-1, 2-0 Pac-10), which won its second consecutive game. Rob Gronkowski was clearly is favorite target, as he hauled in five passes for 109 yards and all three touchdowns. Nic Grigsby headed the ground attack with 113 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.

Ronnie Fouch, making his first college start, threw for 181 yards on 12-of-28 attempts for Washington (0-5, 0-3). He passed for one touchdown with an interception. As a team, the Huskies managed only 244 yards of total offense.

A 29-yard field goal by Jason Bondzio just under five minutes into the game gave Arizona an early lead.

Just over three minutes later, Arizona struck again behind a 37-yard scoring strike from Tuitama to Gronkowski.

On the last play of the first quarter, the Wildcats made it a 17-0 game courtesy of a four-yard touchdown run by Grigsby.

Washington finally got on the board with a Paul Homer one-yard touchdown plunge early in the second quarter.

Midway through the period, Arizona's special teams stepped up with a 48-yard punt return for a touchdown by Mike Thomas.

Tuitama then threw a nine-yard touchdown pass to Gronkowski late in the frame to give the Wildcats a 31-7 lead at halftime.

Early in the second half Tuitama hit Gronkowski on an eight-yard touchdown pass to extend Arizona's advantage.

Bondzio booted a 49-yard field goal and Xavier Smith rumbled two yards for a score late in the third quarter to give the Wildcats a 48-7 lead.

Fouch completed a 20-yard touchdown pass to Michael Gottlieb midway through the final quarter, and that accounted for the last score of the game.

Arizona racked up 449 yards of total offense and that includes 256 on the ground.
