Charlotte, NC -- (Sports Network) - Riley Skinner threw for 268 yards and a touchdown, while Kenneth Moore had 112 yards receiving, and Wake Forest rallied to beat Connecticut, 24-10, in the Meineke Car Care Bowl at Bank of America Stadium.Skinner went 29-of-38 but did also throw an interception for the Demon Deacons (9-4). Moore, playing in his hometown in his final game, caught 11 passes and was named MVP. "Today's game was a homecoming for me," said Moore. "I just wanted to come out and have a great game. My teammates came out in the second half and played well. They did not play bad the first half, we were just able to make a couple of big plays (in the second half) that we were able to capitalize on." Josh Adams, ACC rookie of the year, rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown in the win. Tyler Lorenzen completed just 13-of-26 for 98 yards, and Donald Brown rushed for 78 yards for the Huskies (9-4). "The quarterback just didn't get in rhythm today," said Huskies coach Randy Edsall. "I told them in the locker room about how proud we are of our accomplishments this year. You know you have the little pit in your stomach that you didn't win. We didn't win but we did get nine wins and were ranked for the first time in school history and beat a top 25 team this year." UConn struck first when Larry Taylor returned a punt 68 yards down the right sideline for a touchdown with 2:38 left in the opening quarter. Wake Forest drove down the field midway through the second quarter, but Robert Vaughn picked Skinner at the Huskies 9-yard line. On the next play, Brown ran 58 yards leading to a 29-yard Tony Ciaravino field goal for a 10-0 lead with 5:00 minutes to go in the second quarter. The Demon Deacons, trailing 10-0 at the half, took control in the second half. An Adams 38-yard touchdown run up the middle with 12:44 left in the third quarter, cut the UConn lead to 10-7. Later in the third, the Demon Deacons went ahead for good. Skinner connected with tight end John Tereshinski in the corner of the end zone for a 14-10 lead with 3:27 left in the quarter. Wake Forest Linebacker Stanley Arnoux made numerous big plays for the Demon Deacons the rest of the way. On a fourth down, he stuffed a Brown rush attempt, leading to a 34-yard field goal by Sam Swank that pushed the Wake Forest lead to 17-10 with 11:53 left in the fourth quarter.
