Two Bulldogs Suspended For Alcohol-Related Incidents

Sunday, January 20, 2008

(Sports Network) - Two University of Georgia football players are facing a minimum suspension of one game each for what the school has described as "separate alcohol-related incidents over the weekend."

Redshirt sophomore defensive back Donavon Baldwin and redshirt freshman fullback Fred Munzenmaier have been disciplined by head coach Mark Richt and will miss the season opener against Georgia Southern on August 30. Both players have also been assigned community service and internal discipline.

"They know better, and I'm disappointed in both of them," said Richt. "They will have to pay a price, but it's unfortunate the rest of the team will also have to suffer for their poor judgment."

Baldwin failed to record a tackle in eight games for Georgia (11-2) which decimated previously unbeaten Hawaii, 41-10, in the Sugar Bowl on New Year's Day.

Munzenmaier recorded six yards on just one carry in 10 games this season.
