NCAA Game Summary - Illinois State At Youngstown State

Saturday, December 2, 2006

(Sports Network) - Tom Zetts threw for 146 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for a score as Youngstown State survived a late Illinois State rally to win 28-21 and advance to the semifinal round of the NCAA I-AA playoffs.

Marcus Mason rushed for 138 yards on 26 carries with a touchdown for the Penguins (11-2), who now have the dubious task of facing defending national champion Appalachian State next week.

Luke Drone completed 16-of-27 passes for 189 yards with two touchdowns to Laurent Robinson for the Redbirds (9-4), while Pierre Rembert rushed for 114 yards on 24 carries.

Drone also rushed for a TD, but the signal-caller threw four interceptions for the second straight week, the last of which came on Illinois State's last possession of the game.

The contest marked the second time that the Gateway Conference had two teams face off in the postseason.
