San Jose, CA -- (Sports Network) - Kyle Reed completed 28-of-40 passes for a career-high 300 yards and three touchdowns to lead the San Jose State Spartans to a 30-7 victory over the Utah State Aggies in Western Athletic Conference action.

David Richmond caught eight passes for 89 yards and one touchdown for San Jose State (4-2, 2-0 WAC), which won for the 15th time in its last 17 home games.

Sean Setzer was effective in relief for the Aggies, as he completed 5-of-9 passes for 53 yards with one touchdown in the loss for Utah State (1-5, 1-1).

San Jose State dominated the second quarter, scoring three unanswered touchdowns in a span of just over eight minutes to break a scoreless tie. Reed threw a pair of touchdowns, a six-yarder to Brian Elledge and an eight-yarder to Richmond. In between those scores, Duke Ihenacho scored for the Spartans on a 43-yard interception return.

The Spartans scored just 17 seconds into the third quarter, as Reed tossed a 53-yard touchdown pass to Terrance Williams. The extra point attempt failed, but San Jose State extended its advantage to 27-0. The score was then pushed to 30-0 with a 27-yard field goal by Jared Strubeck later in that third quarter.

Utah State scored its only points of the game on a two-yard touchdown pass from Sean Setzer to Ronald Scott in the fourth quarter, bringing the score to its final of 30-7.

San Jose State finished the game with a 401-190 advantage in total yards.
