Birmingham, AL -- (Sports Network) - Vinny Zaccario's 25-yard chip shot field goal with two seconds remaining gave Memphis a thrilling 33-30 victory over UAB in Conference USA action. Curtis Steele ran for 101 yards, Carlos Singleton caught five passes for 123 yards and a touchdown and Memphis (3-3, 1-2 C-USA) picked up its first conference win. Joe Webb reached paydirt three times with 93 yards on the ground. His battery mate on the ground, Rashaud Slaughter, rushed for 92 yards on 13 carries for UAB (1-5, 0-2), which remained winless in the conference. Along with his rushing, Webb completed 14-of-25 passes for 235 yards and a touchdown for the Blazers, while Arkelon Hall finished 18-of-28 for 209 yards and four scoring strikes, two to Earnest Williams. Webb was the first signal-caller to light up the scoreboard with his 16-yard scoring pass to Mike Jones in the first quarter. Swayze Waters' 18-yard field goal gave UAB a 10-0 lead late in the same period. Memphis' offense picked up the slack in the second quarter. Hall tossed a 30- yard touchdown pass to Williams, but Webb responded with a nine-yard touchdown sprint. Hall went back to Williams for a 20-yard touchdown and a 16-14 game before Hall's five-yard touchdown pass to Steven Black gave Memphis the lead, 20-16, despite a failed two-point conversion. Webb's 12-yard touchdown run again put the Blazers back in front, 23-20, but Memphis again regained the edge when Hall found Singleton for a 15-yard score. Zaccario's 34-yard field goal made the score 30-23 before Webb tied the game with his third rushing touchdown of the game -- a 10-yard jaunt with 4:10 to go. The Tigers followed with a scoring drive that put the game on Zaccario's foot, and he delivered.
