Posted: 11:53 am EDT June 28, 2009Updated: 1:39 pm EDT June 29, 2009

Police are trying to figure out why someone attacked a man in his home in Edgewater.

Friends of the victim discovered him inside a house on Victory Palm Drive on Sunday morning.

According to investigators, the victim was found tied up in his bedroom. He was transported to Halifax Medical Center with severe injuries.

Eyewitness News found out the homeowner's name is Keith Cope. One of the person's living in the home is a registered sex offender named Joseph Jordan.

However, so far, police will confirm the identity of the victim.

Neighbors are shocked and cannot believe this happened.

"I've been living here ten years, nothing like this has ever happened," said one neighbor.

Community service officers watched over the house Sunday, and at one point investigators took Cope's truck away as evidence.
