OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. -- Best Buy was featured a 52-inch flat screen TV for $9.99 on their website Wednesday morning. Many people took advantage of that offer and went to a store in Hunters Creek, waited in line only to be turned away when Best Buy did not honor the online deal.Eyewitness News talked to some angry customers."We came across an advertisement for $9.99 for a Samsung 52-inch LCD HD TV," said customer Annie Muniz.SLIDESHOW: Long Lines Outside Best Buy A television like the one that was advertised normally runs more than $1,600."Did you guys look at that price and think this has got to be too good to be true?" asked WFTV reporter Eric Rasmussen."We sure did. All of us did," Muniz said. When people got to the store, they realized Best Buy had pulled the plug on the deal."We would like the television, you make a mistake; you honor your mistake," said an angry customer. But Best Buy wasn't about to do that and posted a notice that the unbelievable deal was a typo. Luis Padilla had already used his credit card to order four of the TVs online."My transaction went through, I want my four TVs," Padilla said.Off camera, the manager at the store said that particular TV was out of stock, but the angry crowd growing outside the doors wasn't buying it."What did you really think when you saw that?" Rasmussen asked."I knew it was mistake, but when I go to Walgreens and they forget to take a tag off for a sale that was yesterday, they honor that price," said Padilla. This mix-up was big enough that Best Buy posted a written response on its corporate website, stating:"There was an online pricing error on a 52” Samsung television this morning. We have corrected the issue and apologize for the confusion this may have caused. We will not be honoring the incorrect price and again apologize for the mistake."
