LAKE COUNTY, Fla. -- Some Lake County people who skipped out on their rent and left behind 20 animals are not being charged for abandoning them. The landlord found the animals inside the home on Bay Lake Loop in Groveland (see map) Wednesday, but the renters were gone. The animals were picked up by animal control, but investigators say the renters won't be charged because someone was coming by to feed the animals. However, charges could be filed if any of the animals are sick.
