BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. -- A convicted Brevard County sex offender will be back in court Tuesday after being accused of violating his probation. Police say they moved in to make the arrest after they got a tip from his former victim. On Monday, the victim called the police when Sherman Kirkland showed up at her relatives' Titusville home where children were present.Eyewitness News crews were in court in 1996 when Kirkland was convicted of raping the victim and getting her pregnant at the age of 15 years old."He is a very sick individual and people like him don't deserve to be on the street," said Kirkland's victim. The victim's relatives said Kirkland was helping to take care of a disabled man. He has a long criminal history and was released from prison in July. He had one month left on his probation.
