Cocoa Officer Shoots, Kills Pit Bull After It Charged At Him

A Cocoa police officer said he had no other choice but to shoot and kill a pit bull.

The officer was responding to a call from a woman who said the dog pinned her to a car near Paw Paw and Bernard streets. When he arrived the dog ran off, but then came back, charging at them.

The officer said he felt threatened, so he shot and killed the dog. The owner is facing charges.
