Thursday, August 28, 2008 – updated: 10:05 am EDT August 29, 2008

A Volusia County jury recommended death for convicted murderer Cornelius Baker. Earlier this week, a jury found him guilty of first-degree murder for kidnapping and killing a Daytona Beach grandmother last year.

Baker apologized to the family of Elizabeth Uptagrafft on Wednesday.

A judge must now decide whether to follow the jury's recommendation.
