Police Search For Remaining Suspects After Man Carjacked, Beaten

ORANGE COUTNY, Fla. -- A man was beaten during a carjacking at the Eaglewood Apartments off of John Young Parkway (see map) and Oak Ridge Road, Tuesday. A 17-year-old was arrested and investigators were searching for two other people involved.

Deputies said it started in Orange County when the victim was trying to park his car. That's when three men walked up to him, beat him and stole his car. Orange County sheriff's deputies said the three men were brazen when they attacked the victim."During the carjacking the three suspects began to beat the victim, causing injuries to his head and neck," said Commander Spike Hopkins of the Orange County Sherriff's Office.The suspects got away in the victim's car, but he was able to give a detailed description of the people who robbed him. Deputies issued a "BOLO," or "Be On the Look Out," for the stolen car. Orlando police spotted the car in the Lake Mann area."We saw two suspects that left the scene rather quickly on foot and thought that was suspicious. We were able to indentify both of them when the victim came to the scene," said Robert Anzueto of the Orlando Police Department, although those two suspects remain on the run.According to investigators, the driver of the car was 17 years old."One of the K-9 units was able to spot the vehicle in the Lake Mann homes. Our unit got behind it. The driver complied and was taken into custody with out incident," said Anzueto.The victim wasn't hospitalized and is expected to be okay.
