Arrest Made In Brutal Stabbing Case

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- A murder suspect apparently tried to commit suicide by taking what deputies think may have been rat poison before they moved in to arrest him.Hector Barrios is charged with one count of attempted murder in connection with an attack Tuesday on his former roommate.Deputies saw Barrios Wednesday morning near the scene of the stabbing and thought he was acting suspiciously. They checked and found he was wanted for attempted murder but before they actually made contact and placed him under arrest, they say he swallowed what appeared to be rat poison.Barrios was taken to Florida Hospital for treatment. His alleged victim is also in the hospital and is listed as stable. She had not given investigators a statement as of late Wednesday afternoon.
