Hit And Run Suspect Turns Himself In Months After Crash

A man wanted in connection with a hit and run accident that happened in March has turned himself in to Florida Highway Patrol troopers.

Randel G. Simmons is charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving a death.

He's accused in the death of Daniel Steinhauser, who was hit and killed on US 441 and Jones Avenue on March 29th. Steinhauser's body wasn't found until the next morning.

Evidence at the scene led troopers to a 2005 Chevy pick-up owned by Simmons. He was booked under a $5,000 bond.
