Vandals Cover Church Walls With Hate Messages

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- An Orange County church was forced to cancel its Sunday services after vandals destroyed parts of the sanctuary. Hate messages covered the walls of the First Baptist Church in Taft (see map).Church leaders discovered references to Hitler and the devil when they showed up for Sunday morning's service.

"I got no idea, I got no idea. We've never had nothing like this. We've had break-ins, but we've never had anything like this," said Deacon Bob Weagraff.Investigators said the vandals broke in through a back window and emptied at least five fire extinguishers throughout the building.The congregation hopes to have things cleaned up in time for their Wednesday service.
