Investigators say the woman is dressing up in scrubs, as if she is an employee, walking into hospitals and medical offices stealing employees’ wallets.According to investigators, the suspect then heads for big department stores to start her spending spree. She's buying things like baby toys, pillows and gift cards.“And she didn't waste anytime either. We are talking a time span of two and a half hours that she racked up purchases over $1,200,” Martinez said. But police can't find the suspect, because she's hitting hospitals all across Central Florida, including Holmes Regional, Cape Canaveral Hospital and even one in Sebastian. In total, investigators say the suspect has victimized at least four people and spent more than $5,000. Eyewitness News found out she's been doing it for a while, most recently October 13.“She's got her act down to where, we don't know if she is an employee or medical facility employees, but she's going in these areas, finding her way to where people’s wallets are.Cameras have caught her loading up carts at Wal-Mart, Target, Walgreens and Winn Dixie stores. If and when the suspect is caught she faces several charges, including fraud and grand theft. She could be locked in prison for up to five years if convicted.
