Listen up!

Class is in session. Sunday night, it was the WWE "Royal Rumble," where 30 men scrapped for a chance to headline this year's "WrestleMania." To the winner, a title shot against either the ECW, "Raw" or "Smackdown!" champion.

Who took it? Read below for my surprise pre-show pick, and see what actually happened. As for the rest of the card, here's the stuff:

Challenge Match: MNM vs. The Hardys
What Should Happen: This is a grudge match to settle the score after Joey Mercury was in the wrong place at the wrong time and was hit in the face with a ladder by Matt Hardy in a PPV a few weeks ago. Mercury took a wicked (real) blow, and was a bloody mess. The teams should put on a good show, with MNM's screeching heel manager/valet Melina in the background. I hope she's not a factor in the decision, because these four wrestlers can go when properly motivated. As for a finish, it doesn't really matter who wins, but I would like to see Matt Hardy get a pin in a major show. It doesn't seem like that has happened lately.

What Will Happen: For some reason, I see the Hardys winning.

What Did Happen: The Hardys won, in pretty dandy opener.

ECW Title Match: Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Test
What Should Happen: Each man should take a drug test before this contest. I'm thinking steroids would come into play somehow. As for the match, I would book Test to win just to put the belt in a scummy, creepy heel's hands. Lashley having this particular title is dull.

What Will Happen: Lashley will retain. He might lose the belt at WM23, but not here.

What Did Happen: Lashley retained his belt, as that moron Test got himself counted out.

WWE Title Match: John Cena (c) vs. Umaga
What Should Happen: This is a last man standing match, so Cena can't win with a fluke pin. It's also an opportunity for Umaga to show us he's as good as Samoa Joe, who had a similar match against Kurt Angle in TNA two weeks ago. Good luck with that Umaga.

What Will Happen: I really want to pick Umaga to win, but WWE still doesn't have the guts to do it. Cena takes it.

What Did Happen: This wasn't a bad match at all, but Cena is still your champion. Umaga did a fine job, but ultimately couldn't make the 10 count.

World Heavyweight Championship Match: Batista (c) vs. Mr. Kennedy
What Should Happen: This doesn't look good on paper, kids. And it's not really a match I'd run out and buy. They're hiding it well in an event as big as the Royal Rumble. Actually, this has to be a set-up for Batista-Undertaker at "WrestleMania 23."

What Will Happen: Wrestling is fake, and anything can happen, but bet the mortgage anyway. Batista will win.

What Did Happen: I could have made a fortune on this one. Batista won, with never a doubt.

Royal Rumble Match
What Should Happen: So who's in it? According to WWE.com, here's the field: Shelton Benjamin, Chris Benoit, Carlito, Tommy Dreamer, Kenny Dykstra, Edge, Finlay, Ric Flair, Chavo Guerrero, Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, Gregory Helms, Hardcore Holly, Kane, King Booker, Chris Masters, Shawn Michaels, The Miz, Johnny Nitro, Randy Orton, Montel Vontavious Porter, CM Punk, Sabu, Sandman, The Great Khali, Kevin Thorn, Undertaker, Rob Van Dam and Viscera. I think the final four should be Orton, Edge, Michaels and Flair. That would be highly entertaining. Edge vs. John Cena at WM23 wouldn't be a bad match, neither would Orton vs. Cena. But for my money, give me HBK. He deserves to be in the title hunt just as much as Umaga does.

What Will Happen: I'm picking Shawn Michaels to win the Royal Rumble.

What Did Happen: The final four were Michaels, Orton, Edge and Undertaker. The final two? Michaels and Undertaker. Who won? In the end, UT eliminated Michaels to get a title shot at WM23, presumably against David Batista. D'oh! I was so close to calling this PPV perfectly!! Oh well, I'm still a genius.

Whew! Well, another pay-per-view, another stellar performance from yours truly. Is there anyone in the world who can do that as consitently as me? Nope. I should run for president. Nah, got bigger fish to fry. Namely...
