Whoopi Stung By Oscar Host Montage Snub

'View' Co-Host Hosted Four Oscar Ceremonies

Tuesday, February 26, 2008 – updated: 9:40 am EST February 26, 2008

Whoopi Goldberg's co-hosts on "The View" are abuzz about why the Oscar-winner and four-time host was a ghost in an Oscar montage featuring past show hosts.

Goldberg was featured in a Best Supporting Actress Oscar montage when she won the award for "Ghost" in 1990. But the fact that she hosted the show in 1994, 1996, 1999 and 2002 -- yet didn't make the retrospective clip -- raised her colleagues' eyebrows.

Calling the snub "wrong," Elisabeth Hasselbeck said to Goldberg on "The View" Monday, "Maybe they accidentally lost a clip of you hosting," and Joy Behar noted that "being slighted is never fun."

Goldberg, 52, appeared sad over the snub. Sherri Shepherd pondered if Goldberg perhaps made someone mad to prompt what happened.

"Undoubtedly I (bleeped) somebody off yet again," Goldberg said. "You know what, I don't -- I don't know."

Barbara Walters tried to bring light to the proceedings by saying, "We think you're a great host."

The actress-comedian wasn't the only previous Oscar host to miss the cut. Steve Martin, who hosted the show twice, was also omitted from the clip.
