Friend Says Kenny Chesney Was Shocked By Annulment

It sounds like Kenny Chesney was shocked when Renee Zellweger asked for an annulment.People magazine quoted a friend as saying Chesney "had no idea this was coming." The friend said Chesney "knew they weren't as happy as they should have been, but he didn't know she was about to drop a bomb on him." Country singer Gretchen Wilson said it wasn't anyone's fault. She said it's just that they "jumped in like teenagers."The couple married in May after a whirlwind courtship. They met at a Tsunami relief benefit Jan. 15.In court papers filed Sept. 14, Zellweger listed "fraud" as the reason for the breakup.Zellweger released a statement last week saying that "fraud" was "not a reflection of Kenny's character." She said it was “legal language.”Zellweger is known for her roles in such films as "Jerry Maguire," "Bridget Jones's Diary" and "Chicago."She won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role in "Cold Mountain" in 2004.Kenny Chesney is on fire this year. He is the reigning Country Music Association entertainer of the year, and his CD "When the Sun Goes Down" was named album of the yearZellweger is 36. Chesney is 37. It was the first time either of them had been married.
