4th Annual Reptile WeekendBrevard Zoo is hosting its fourth annual Reptile Weekend over Labor Day weekend, Saturday, August 30th to Monday, September 1st, from 10:00am to 4:00pm daily. The entire weekend is about promoting reptiles and their importance in the environment.

The theme this year will focus on venomous snakes and insects. The Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Venom Response team will be at the Zoo for the weekend, bringing several snakes, some venomous, and doing an educational program daily on these animals, those native to, or imported into the United States. Snakes on exhibit include: Canebrake, Dusky Pygmy, Eastern Diamondback, Copperhead, Florida Kingsnake Everglades Ratsnake, Cornsnake and a Western Hognose.

Most of the reptiles on loan are not animals currently on exhibit at the zoo, or a part of the zoo's collection. The zoo's program animals will also be on exhibit, along with animal encounters, extra feeding demos and more.

10:30am-2:30pm: Reptile Encounters, main entrance of zoo
3:00pm: Alligator Feedings and meet a baby gator, Wild Florida
10:00am-4:00pm: Reptile Biofacts located around the zoo
10:00am-4:00pm: Reptile Diets located in the Wildlife Detective Training Academy

Brevard Zoo is home to more than 550 animals representing over 165 species from North America, South America, Australia and Africa. The zoo features many extraordinary animal experiences including giraffe and lorikeet feedings, African and wetland kayak tours, and a train ride. Brevard Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
