8th Annual Wiggle Waggle WalkLace the shoes and leash the dog! It's time to go walking for a good cause! The SPCA of Central Florida presents their 8th Annual Wiggle Waggle Walk, a walk for the animals and with the animals, on Saturday, October 11th, 2008, at Oval Park, located at Colonial Center in Heathrow. All family members are invited to help raise money for a very good cause! Remember, all funds stay local in Central Florida.

This year there will be even more surprises and things to bark about! The morning will start with registration at 9:00am and the walk will step-off at 10:00am. The walk concludes with pet demonstrations, prizes, awards and the "Ultimate Pet Costume Contest." In addition, local "Business Buddies" will be on hand with plenty of information on the latest animal care and pet-related merchandise for your wet nosed friends!

This event expects 1250+ people and 550 dogs! This year's goal is to raise $65,000, so we really need your help!

Here are just a few ways you can lend a helpful paw at this year's event:

Walk as a "Pack"
A Pack is a group of two or more people who walk together (friends, neighbors, colleagues, classmates, family members, groups, and so on). Packs must raise at least $500 (for example, five people raising $100 each). Each Pack will get its name on a sign to carry at the walk, a group photo and pack members will qualify for individual premiums and prizes!

Last year's Top Pack - Franklin's Friends, raised $15,000. They currently have raised $22,889.87 for this years walk! Holy Cow Batman! Thank you Franklin's Friends (Dr. Monisha Seth)!

Walk as an Individual
A minimum donation applies to all walk participants. Adults - $25, Children (12 or younger with paid adult) - $10. The more money a walker raises, the more "goodies" or premiums the walker earns. Just remember, premiums are while supplies last so you may want to pre-register! (Look at our website for information on how to register and track your donations.) The top "FUNdraisers" in both individual and pack categories receive additional premiums!

Be a Volunteer at the Walk
Want to lend a helping hand? We are looking for people with different skills to help with everything from set up, to registration, to the food table, handing out premiums, and even lending a helping hand as we tidy up the park! In-Kind Sponsor
Does your company produce a product or provide a service that we could use for the day of the walk? Maybe there is an item you have in mind you could donate as an incentive prizes for the people and pooch walkers? We're asking for everything from orange juice to poop scoop baggies! We also welcome gift certificates for the "top dog" walkers - restaurant gift certificates, airline tickets, hotel stays and other hospitality are great incentives for people to raise lots and lots of money. If you can help by donating a product or service, let us know! We'll be glad to hear from you!

Business Buddies
Looking for a special way to showcase your business? Then be a Business Buddy at this year's walk! You might be wondering what a Business Buddy is. It can be anything from a pet store merchant to a pet friendly hotel and everything in-between! It is the perfect opportunity to reach out to Central Florida pet owners and animal enthusiasts all in one day!

Location & Directions:

• Westbound from Daytona
I-4 west to Lake Mary/Heathrow. Turn right at the next traffic light, International Parkway (Colonial Grand Center), and proceed approximately 1.5 miles. You will pass the AAA building. Look for Business Buddy’s signs. Parking is available at the FiServ parking lot – 901 International Parkway.

• Eastbound from Tampa
I-4 east to Lake Mary/Heathrow exit. Turn left at the traffic light onto Lake Mary Blvd. Go to next stop light and turn right on International Parkway (Colonial Grand Center) and proceed approximately 1.5 miles. Take a right at Heathrow Park Drive. Look for Business Buddy signs. Parking is available at the FiServ parking lot – 901 International Parkway.
