Red, White & KaboomAs part of the celebration for Independence Day, Central Florida Eurocars and the City of Lakeland will host Red, White & Kaboom on Thursday, July 3rd, 2008 with live music and a dazzling fireworks display over Lake Mirror as the highlight of the evening.

Central Florida Eurocars Red, White & Kaboom will take place around the Lake Mirror Promenade from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. The evening's entertainment will include the smooth sounds of renowned jazz guitarist Les Sabler and the band CitiHeat. The popular smooth jazz performer will play three sets of music ending at 9:00pm to a breathtaking display of fireworks over Lake Mirror. Bob Donahay, Assistant Director of Parks & Recreation said, "With the sponsorship from Central Florida Eurocars, we have added to the fireworks this year so it should be one fantastic show.

Les Sabler is a native of Canada who moved to Florida to undertake graduate studies at the highly-regarded University of Miami jazz department. While there, he performed and toured with a variety of jazz, Latin and R&B bands, which enabled him to hone his guitar style and songwriting technique. Jazz Review wrote, "Mega talented guitarist Les Sabler mixes sounds, tempos and emotions. He uses gentle acoustic and nylon-string guitar as well as electric rock fusion to keep the listener glued during a performance. Les Sabler has surely found the magic formula to making top notch smooth jazz." Les Sabler and his guitar can be heard regularly on smooth jazz radio stations. Critics have praised his latest album Sweet Drive and honors have begun to roll in. The collection is nominated as Album of the Year at the 2008 Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards.

There will be a variety of food and drink vendors around Lake Mirror so bring a blanket and enjoy the live music and a dramatic display of fireworks over the lake. The evening is free to the public and everyone is encouraged to attend. All City parking garages will be open for Central Florida Eurocars Red, White & Kaboom. MORE JULY 4th FUN!

On Friday, July 4th, 2008 the celebration continues at Lakeland's own Joker Marchant Stadium. There will be a fireworks display around 9:00pm following the Lakeland Flying Tigers vs. Ft. Myers baseball game. Joker Marchant Stadium is located at 2301 Lakeland Hills Boulevard. Tickets for the July 4th baseball game are $5.00 adults and $4.00 for children 14 and under.
