3rd Annual Dog Days of Summer Camp for Kids

Are you looking for something different for your children to do this summer? The Central Brevard Humane Society will be hosting their 3rd Annual Dog Days of Summer Camp for Kids on June 16th thru 20th (first session) and July 14th thru 18th (second session), for children ages 9 to 13 years of age, from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Humane Society's Shelter located at 1020 Cox Road in Cocoa.

Campers can come and enjoy fun games, creative arts & crafts and come face-to-face with exciting animal friends - some furry, fuzzy and scaly. They will learn about responsible pet ownership, the humane treatment of animals and pet safety.

Some of the presenters will include 4-H Clubs/Brevard County Extension (speaking about horses and the care of them), Awesome Dog Training (teaching dog obedience techniques), Becky Bolt with Kennedy Space Center (talking about the wildlife at the Space Center), Coon’s Run Wildlife Refuge, Florida Fish & Wildlife and Jungle Adventure. The cost per session is $125.00 per child (includes the official Dog Days of Summer Camp T-shirt); please make checks payable to the Central Brevard Humane Society.

On Monday, June 16th and July 14th, campers will be able to have their photo taken with some of Jungle Adventure’s animals for a $5.00 donation. The funds will go towards the care for the animals at the attraction.

Applications for the Dog Days of Summer Camp can be downloaded from the Humane Society's web site at www.crittersavers.com. They will also be available at the Shelter in Cocoa and at any of the (3) Molly Mutt Thrift Shops in Downtown Melbourne, Merritt Island and Rockledge. Once the registration form has been completed, please mail to the:

Founded in 1952, the Central Brevard Humane Society (CBHS) is Brevard County's oldest established animal welfare organization. A "no kill for space" shelter, CBHS is dedicated to speaking for those who can not speak for themselves. We educate the community on responsible pet ownership and the humane treatment of animals, advocate for spaying/neutering to reduce the homeless pet population and provide the best quality care to Brevard's abandoned animals by placing them with responsible, caring owners in "forever" homes.

"No more homeless pets…Spayed/Neutered…Adopted."
