Paul Mooney was born in Louisiana and grew up in Oakland, California. Paul ran away from home and joined the Charles Gody Circus, going down in history as the first African-American ringmaster. He was always writing comedy which help land his first professional gig working with Richard Pryor as a writer for Pryor's "Saturday Night Live" apearance, and as a co-writer for his ground-breaking comedy albums.

Mooney also was head writer for "In Living Color" and has appeared on "Def Comedy Jam", "Showtime at the Apollo", "The Howard Stern Show" and starred in the film "Bamboozled". Perhaps his most prominent role, was as himself in Chappelle's Show's 'Ask A Black Dude'.

When Paul Mooney is in town, it's a guarantee it will be a controversial night you will never forget.
