Put away the fancy holiday cloths and get the jeans and dancing boots and join the City of Casselberry for the Art & Music in the Park and Food Truck Bazaar. The event is Friday, January 11 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Lake Concord Park behind Casselberry City Hall at 95 Triplet Lake Dr.
The evening will kick-off with Central Florida's own Hindu Cowboys. The band's sound is rich with folk, traditional string band and corn-fed roots music, all topped off with retro-country gravy. Their live sets are laced with cover songs from old-school country and classic rock, reinvented in the Hindu Cowboys style.
The Hindu Cowboys were formed in 1998 in Orlando, Florida, and still make Central Florida their home. The band core is based around its three founding members: Joseph Martens, playing acoustic guitar and lead vocals, Craig Roy on the upright bass, and George Dimitrov on electric guitar. The musical style of the Hindu Cowboys is a unique combination of the musical roots of the origins of founding members, from Nashville, to the State of New York, and across the ocean to Bulgaria.
The evening will continue as you stroll through the park shopping for beautiful hand-made works of art from more than 20 local artisans. Each booth includes the most unique items from jewelry and paintings to photography, ceramics, and more!
The night wouldn't be complete without some down-home comfort food from The Food Truck Bazaar (www.thefoodtruckbazaar.com), including more than 12 food trucks serving everything from mouth watering barbeque and burgers to home-made banana bread pudding.
Bring your own chairs, tables, and blankets and enjoy some toe tapping fun. Free admission and parking.
