The Mid-Florida Milers Walking Club promotes recreational walking for fun, fitness and friendship. They will host a walk in Casselberry on Saturday, December 15, 2012, starting at Secret Lake Park, 200 N. Triplet Lake Dr., Casselberry, FL 32707.

Participants may register and start the walk any time between 9:00 & 10:30am. Walkers should plan so they can finish by 12:30pm.

The event is sanctioned by the American Volkssport Association and is open to the public. Participants may choose between a distance of 10 kilometers (6 miles) or 5 kilometers (3 miles). Walkers are given a guide with detailed walk-route directions and are welcome to walk with a group, a companion, or by themselves.

The walk will start at Secret Lake Park, a recreational park surrounded by scenic lakes, and continue through residential areas of Casselberry. The route is suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. Leashed pets are permitted on the walk route.      The cost for the walk is $3 for AVA Credit. Non-credit walkers may walk for free.
