Captain John Sowell U.S. Army will be the keynote speaker at the Flagler County’s Veterans Day Ceremony at 10 a.m., Monday, November 12 in front of the Government Services Building.

Captain Sowell, a helicopter pilot for Flagler County, was called to serve in Afghanistan five years ago, he is in the process of returning to his job as FireFlight Pilot for Flagler County. The Veteran’s Day Ceremony is sponsored by the Flagler County’s Veterans Advisory Council and the Flagler County Board of County Commissioners.

Flagler Palm Coast High School student Jordan Patin will sing the National Anthem and Flagler County Youth singers will provide entertainment with a selection of patriotic songs.

Participants in the ceremony include: American Legion Post 115, AmVets Post 113, DAV Chapter 86, Italian American War Veterans Post 7, Jewish War Veterans Post 300, Marine Corps League 876, Military Officers Association of America, Military Order of the Purple Heart 808, VFW Post 8696, The Knights of Columbus 2264 Color Corps, The Flagler Palm Coast High School AFJROTC, Flagler County Girl Scouts of America, Flagler County Cub Scouts and the Flagler County Veterans Service Office.

At the conclusion of the ceremony refreshments will be provided by the Military Officers Association of America. The public is encouraged to attend.
