The Mid-Florida Milers Walking Club promotes recreational walking for fun, fitness and friendship. They will host a walk in downtown Orlando on Saturday, January 5, 2013, starting at Orlando Regional Medical Center, 1414 Kuhl Avenue, Orlando, FL 32806.

Participants may register and start the walk any time between 8:30 & 9:00am. Walkers finish at their leisure.

The event is sanctioned by the American Volkssport Association and is open to the public. Participants may choose between a distance of 10 kilometers (6 miles) or 6 kilometers (3.5 miles). Walkers are given a guide with detailed walk-route directions and are welcome to walk with a group, a companion, or by themselves.

The walk takes participants through historic downtown Orlando, Colonial Town historic area, and past landmarks such as the County Courthouse and Lake Eola. Suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. Leashed pets are permitted.     The cost for the walk is $3 for AVA Credit. Non-credit walkers may walk for free.
