The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will offer a Free Hunter Safety Course from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 5 and 6 at DeBary Hall Historic Site, 198 Sunrise Blvd.  A second course will be offered Feb. 9 and 10.

The courses, which include 12 hours of classroom study and three hours at a shooting range, cover the knowledge, skills and attitude needed to be a safe hunter.

DeBary Hall is an 1871 hunting lodge that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It’s owned by the state and managed by Volusia County’s Parks, Recreation and Culture Division.
