The Bach Festival Society of Winter Park presents Quink, a Dutch vocal ensemble known the world over for its beauty and power. Comprising four singers, the group captivates its audience with a variety of a cappella repertoire from early Renaissance to music of our own time.  The concert will take place Sunday, February 10, 2013 at 3:00pm at Tiedtke Concert Hall on the campus of Rollins College.

The New York Times has praised Quink’s “elegant phrasing, impeccable intonation, and a purity of tone reminiscent of Renaissance madrigals.” Quink features soprano Marjon Strijk, mezzo soprano Elsbeth Gerritsen, tenor Harry Van Berne, and bass Kees Jan De Koning.

Quink’s first United States tour in 1985 was so successful that the group now returns often, having performed concerts on both coasts, the Midwest, and Alaska as well as in Canada, Israel, Singapore, and throughout Europe. In addition to extensive touring, the ensemble has recorded many CDs for a variety of labels.

Their upcoming performance will include works by English composers Ralph Vaughan Williams, Frank Bridge, Ernest John Moeran, and Edward Elgar, as well as German composer Fanny Hensel-Mendelssohn, and other various folk songs.

Tickets range from $35 to $50.
