Learn more about what is being done locally to boost the electric vehicle industry and join us at the OUC Reliable Plaza which was named as the “Greenest Building in Orlando”.  MIX AND MINGLE: Mingle with government leaders, utilities experts, electric vehicle users, vehicle manufacturers & green transporation industry leaders….among many other business leaders in the community  DEMONSTRATION VEHICLESDemonstration vehicles will be on display near the charging stations at the beginning of our program.  Hear the latest buzz and get re-charged! Bring your colleagues, family, friends and neighbors to this FREE event OUR SPEAKERS! Get Ready Central Florida and John Parker About Get Ready Central Florida: Get Ready Central Florida is a coalition of state and local governments, utility providers, businesses, and electric vehicle enthusiasts committed to preparing Central Florida for the release of highway-ready, plug-in electric vehicles.John Parker is a Senior Environmental Specialist with Orange County’s Environmental Protection Division.  He is a Grant Writer / Project Manager in their Mobile Sources section.  John serves as Chairman for Get Ready Central Florida (GRCF), the first “Project Get Ready” Electric Transportation coalition in Florida.  He currently serves on the Central Florida Clean Cities Coalition, the Central Florida Clean Air Team and participates in EPA’s Southeast Diesel Collaborative.  John earned his BS in Biology and Environmental Science from Bridgewater University in Massachusetts. Courtney Miller and reThink reThink is the area's Regional Commuter Assistance Program that helps employers and their employees reThink the way they get to work, providing ridematching services and an Emergency Ride Home program. Courtney Miller, Program Manager of reThink, will present on green transportation options that are available to everyone right now - from riding transit, to carpooling, to biking or walking, to telecommuting.Ms. Miller will also present on green transport options like carsharing and bikesharing, including an overview of when and how those options could be available for Central Florida. Courtney Miller started her career in transit as a dispatcher for Votran in 2004. She moved on to the Operations & Maintenance department at the Volusia County Public Transit System, then made the  leap to Marketing and Communications at LYNX. Ms. Miller graduated from Rollins College in 2003 with a B.A in Theater Arts, acquiring skills that are surprisingly useful in the transportation industry. As Program Manager of reThink, the FDOT District 5 Regional Commuter Assistance Program, Ms. Miller leads daily operations, marketing efforts, and stakeholder coordination.  LOCATION: OUC's Reliable Plaza earned Gold Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, officially cementing the 10-story administration and customer service center as the "Greenest Building in downtown Orlando." The non-profit U.S. Green Building Council awarded the Gold level certification after completing a review of the building's design and construction.
