The Art & History Museums –Maitland’s (A&H) program Ladies’ Art Lounge continues on Friday, February 1 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the A&H’s Maitland Art Center, Studio 4; 231 W. Packwood Avenue, Maitland.

Introduced in January, Ladies' Art Lounge is a program that focuses on friendships, creativity, and fun.  Ladies' Art Lounge is designed for women who want an evening out with friends where they can talk, have a glass of wine, and learn something new in a casual and fun atmosphere.  The program is held on the first Friday of every month from 5:30 to 7:30 PM.  Each event features one of the A&H’s talented faculty members leading a program in which participants can let their creative juices flow.  Guests will make art pieces that are sure to hold special memories of time well spent with dear friends.   

The February 1st program is led by A&H Artist-In-Action Whitney Broadaway, who presents a printmaking activity: Plexiglas Monoprints.   Students will ink-up and draw on a 6x6" Plexiglas plate with pieces of cardboard, paper towels, brushes, and Q-tips, and then run them through an etching press to print their designs on paper. Every print will be different and can build on the one before. At the end of the night, students will go home with their very own set of monoprints in a variety of colors. 

Gather your girlfriends and meet us at the A&H for Ladies' Art Lounge!  Admission is $20 for A&H members and $25 for not-yet-members.  Pre-registration is required.
