The Alafaya Book Club will be discussing "Beautiful Ruins" by Jess Walter. In 1962, a young innkeeper on the coast of Italy spies an American starlet approaching him by boat. Today, an elderly Italian man shows up on a movie studio's back lot in search of the mysterious woman from years ago. Spanning fifty years, "Beautiful Ruins" introduces dozens of flawed and fascinating characters, all navigating the shores of their lives while clinging to their dreams.
