On Saturday, February 16th, hundreds of members of the community will help celebrate Long & Scott Farms' 50th anniversary in business.  In 1963, Frank moved his young family to Mt. Dora and started farming on 100 acres of sand in Zellwood, Florida.  The farm has grown to 1,200 acres, adding a popular Country Café, Produce Market & Club and Corn Maze.

The celebration will be free to the public and will include cooking demonstrations with local produce, educational booths and talks, hay rides, kids crafts, face painting and more.

10:00:  Welcome by Chad Crawford, the Host from How To Do Florida

10:30:  Richard Tyson, Orange County Extension Director – “Benefits of Local Food”

11:00:  Chef Frank Brough, The Wave . . . of American Favors, Disney’s Contemporary Resort –Cooking Demo

11:45:  Heather McPherson and Katie Farmand co-authors (along with Pam Brandon) of the cookbook Field to Feast: Recipes Celebrating Florida Farmers, Chefs, and Artisans

12:00:  Julie England, Extension Agent – Food Preservation
