Funky Trunk Treasures will be celebrating their official Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting on Friday, February 22nd. The celebration will kick off at 4:30pm with the DeLand Chamber’s Ribbon Cutting and roll into the evening’s festivities for the DeLand Art Walk and then wrapping up the evening with door prize drawings at 8:30 pm.

Funky Trunk Treasures supports and promotes artists every day and features a different artist each month. February’s featured artist is Heather Pastor who followed her creative path a year ago and created her company, One By One Designs. During this past year her pop art has been widely recognized and has even earned awards. Currently she teaches Paint Your ART Out classes at The Hub in New Smyrna Beach and Funky Trunk Treasures in downtown DeLand. Heather will be joining us from 6-9 pm for the Art Walk.

Keeping in theme with the art walk this month to promote young artists and support local high school art programs, Funky Trunk Treasures will be hosing two art students from DeLand High School, Riley Mitchell and Jon Yegge. Both of these artists are seniors and will be displaying their work which is also available for sale.

Funky Trunk Treasures is a retail space in the heart of downtown DeLand. A creative and comfortable shopping environment where you can relax and get lost. Primarily stocked with original art from local artists and artisans, there are handmade items and gently used home décor; basically we believe repurposing is totally cool. A big part of our mission is to support women (and some guys) artists and artisans by providing business guidance and support to help them be successful.
