Damn Yankees is this years spring musical at Astronaut High School! A fun-loving story about a man who sells his soul to be a talented young athlete just long enough to get the Washington Senators baseball team to win the pennant. This is one of the most beloved musicals of its decade calling to mind the USAs age of innocence and, of course, Americas favorite past time, BASEBALL! Joe Boyd, played by Ryan Lugo opens the show complaining to his wife, Meg, played by Katy Mayer, about the abysmal season the Washington Senators are limping through. It doesnt take long before Mr. Applegate, played by Zachary Hardy and Lola, Allison Parker, show up to turn Joe Boyd into young Joe Hardy, played by Dennis Pisarz. Musical mayhem ensues as we journey through a season of highs and lows topped off by endearing tunes such as Heart, sung by Lane Gaudi playing the loveable Van Buren and show stopping numbers like Shoeless Joe from Hannibal, MO brought to life by Kalin Tenedini who belts it out as the hard-nosed reporter, Gloria.
