Looking for something fun to do on Memorial Day weekend? Come join the City of Casselberry, 105.9 Sunny FM and the Orlando Bow Tie Club for the 2nd Annual Hot Rods & Rock ‘N’ Roll Car Show and Concert on Saturday, May 25 from 5 – 9 p.m. at Lake Concord Park.
Fusing the visual energy of vintage hot rods with the sights and sounds of rock ‘n’ roll, this is an event the whole family will enjoy. There will be over 100 vintage cars provided by Orlando Bow Tie Club, numerous retail and food vendors, and your favorite Rock ‘N’ Roll songs performed live by some of Florida’s best rock bands.
Directly from England, Rockabilly singer and guitarist Tony Sheridan Jr. will be performing with the Jets. Tony Sheridan Jr. is the oldest son of the late Tony Sheridan also known as “The Teacher”, a nickname given to him by Paul McCartney of the Beatles. As their role model, Sheridan was considered a catalyst for the Beatles' rise to fame.
Tony Sheridan Jr., a multi-talented musician in his own right, lives in the United States and returns to the UK regularly to perform at rockabilly festivals. Following the sad death of Tony Sheridan Sr. in February 2013, Sheridan Jr. is finally stepping out of his father’s shadow and is ready to create his own rock n’ roll legacy!
Headlining the event is Derek and the Slammers, the ultimate Orlando rock band, with a versatile song list from 50’s Doo Wop to Classic 80’s Rock. Derek and the Slammers have performed for many clients including Walt Disney World, Hard Rock Café, House of Blues, Orlando Magic, and more!
Bring chairs and blankets and lots of friends and family to enjoy a rockin’ evening that is sure to keep your engine humming. Lake Concord Park is located at 95 Triplet Lake Dr. behind Casselberry City Hall.
