Experience the IKEA Red Chair and Visual Art Exhibits at CityArts Factory, Thursday, July 18th, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. during the July Downtown Arts District Third Thursday Gallery Hop. This exhibit is FREE to the public and previews the 9th Annual Red Chair Affair, the kick-off to Central Florida’s 2013-2014 arts and cultural season. The exhibits will remain on display through August 10.
More than 50 local cultural organizations and business partners have transformed red IKEA children’s chairs into works of art that will be the centerpiece of The IKEA Red Chair Exhibit. See them while you can—these IKEA Red Chairs will eventually be packaged with unique experiences and auctioned off during the Red Chair Affair VIP Reception.
The Red Chair Visual Art Exhibit will hang above the chairs at CityArts Factory and include pieces that relate to the Red Chair theme. The artists who created the pieces are all a part of the ArtsHub visual artists’ community, and will donate 40 percent of any Red-Chair Themed sales back to the Red Chair Project.
The Red Chair Exhibit and Red Chair Visual Art Exhibit will remain on display through August 10th at CityArts Factory, 29 Orange Ave., Orlando FL, 32801. Admission is free and the gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
This exhibit is your only chance to preview these chairs and visual art pieces before the 9th Annual Red Chair Affair. The Red Chair Affair is an exceptional evening that features more than 20 local performing groups and visual artists and serves as the kick-off to Central Florida’s arts and cultural season. This one-night-only event shows off the treasure that is Central Florida’s arts community, and offers an exclusive sneak peek into the upcoming seasons of Orlando Philharmonic, Orlando Ballet, Orlando Reparatory Theatre, Orlando Shakespeare Theatre and many more.
Red Chair Affair is presented by the Arts and Cultural Alliance of Central Florida and is designed to increase awareness and participation in the arts and cultural offerings in Central Florida. Sponsors include United Arts of Central Florida and Orange Country Arts and Cultural Affairs.
