The City of Ocoee will host its annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Bill Breeze Park, 125 North Lakeshore Drive. The ceremony provides an opportunity to honor and thank all veterans who have served our country.
The City is honored this year to have Kathryn Boyer as its keynote speaker. Ms. Boyer, a United States Air Force veteran, is a Florida native born in Lakeland. She currently resides in Riverview which is on the southwest side of Tampa. Previously, Ms. Boyer lived in Ocoee for 33 years where she and her husband raised their two sons, David and Steven. She says she is looking forward to coming home. “I am honored to be invited to speak at an event that pays tribute to our brothers and sisters in arms. Ocoee was my home for many years. It’s a wonderful city and I’m excited to come back for such an important occasion,” said Ms. Boyer who owned and operated A & B Pest Prevention, Inc. in Ocoee for 12 years.
Ms. Boyer is dedicated to community involvement. Her numerous affiliations include the following:
The Veterans Day ceremony will include patriotic songs, musical tributes, the Ocoee High School Junior ROTC Color Guard and Ocoee Police Department Honor Guard. Refreshments will be served immediately following the ceremony.
