The 8th Annual Central Florida Law Enforcement Car Show returns to the Oviedo Mall on Saturday, January 26th, 2013 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm with activities, vendors and displays to thrill children, adult family members and car enthusiasts alike.
Proceeds benefit local youth programs and childhood cancer programs.
One Stop Cooling, a local air conditioning service contractor and Carrier Corporation join The Oviedo-Winter Springs Optimist Club and the Oviedo-Winter Springs Police Departments as the top sponsor in awarding a Carrier brand central heat pump air conditioning system to one local resident the day of the show. This prize is valued at up to $6000.00 and includes complete installation. Other valuable prizes will be given away each hour. Visit OneStopCooling/xxxxx.com for complete prize details.
“We feel this exciting show really benefits the children of our community while offering a day filled with interesting and fun displays and events” says Michael Haines of One Stop Cooling in Winter Park. “By giving away this Carrier central heat pump air conditioning system we hope to maximize interest and attendance” says Haines.
There is NO ADMISSION COST for spectators of any age.
In addition to hundreds of classic, modern and antique show vehicles of all types from Florida and beyond, there will be displays and demonstrations spread across acres of the Oviedo Mall parking lot and its adjacent green spaces. Vehicles from Law Enforcement, Emergency Medical Services, Military and Fire-Rescue organizations will be staged along with hundreds of privately-owned cars, trucks and motorcycles.
The show also includes law enforcement and air ambulance helicopters; K-9 demos; Fire-Rescue demonstrations; FHP Rollover demonstrations; Florida’s Blood Centers “Big Red Bus”; and specialized public safety and tactical equipment from multiple agencies. Kids and adults always are encouraged to bring cameras to photograph the amazing sights, demonstrations and special guests.
Each year a dedicated Kids’ Zone offers inflatable play areas, games, face-painting, safety education, crafts and other hand-on activities. Competitive car show entry fees as well as corporate and business sponsorships/donations will benefit the Oviedo-Winter Springs Optimist Club’s many youth, family and special needs programs, as well as various childhood cancer campaigns.
“Kids’ Choice” awards will be picked based on youth spectator voting while independent judges will select multiple standouts in various vehicle classes, as well as “Best of” in each class and the overall “Best in Show.”
As in 2012, about 90 awards will be presented this January. Personal cars, trucks and motorcycles of all types may be pre-registered for $25 a vehicle by Dec. 31st (or $35 during January). Individual discounts as well as car club discounts for blocks of 20 or more spaces will be available online. Drivers 21 years of age or younger can enter a vehicle in the “Young Guns” class and pay only their age ($16 to $21) even the day of the show.
