The City of Ocoee will host its 8th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity Parade “The Color of Freedom and Justice”. The parade, presented by the City of Ocoee’s Human Relations Diversity Board, will be held on Monday, January 20, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. The parade route begins at Citrus Elementary School, 87 North Clarke Road, and ends at the parking lot at the West Oaks Mall.
The city is honored to have Chief Judge Belvin Perry, Jr. as its keynote speaker for the post-parade celebration to be held at West Oaks Mall. Judge Perry presently serves as chief judge in the Florida's Ninth Judicial Circuit. Judge Perry is widely recognized for serving as the presiding judge for the high profile Casey Anthony murder trial.
Grand Marshal for the parade will be Delaine Bender, Principal of Citrus Elementary School. Allie Braswell, CEO, Central Florida Urban League, will serve as Master of Ceremony for the post-parade festivities.
